What the Biographies project taught us

As you may recall, a few weeks ago our sixth grade students participated in an entertaining Tea Party that had the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, David Beckham, Amelia Earhart, Albert Einstein and others in attendance. Now that the project has completed, we were intrigued to hear how the students felt impersonating well-known figures from the past and present, and what their main takeaway points were.

Our teachers in charge were very impressed to see the enthusiasm that the students exuded, their acting abilities, and their complete inhabitation of the characters that they had studied. The expert knowledge that the students gathered turned out to be a wonderful manner of learning. The students mentioned that they had an easier time retaining knowledge through this exercise. They were asked to give advice as the famous characters, to sixth graders. The responses were heartwarming with many encouraging statements such as never giving up, finding your passion, working hard, stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new, remembering your roots, always believing in yourself and many more. The students truly learned what it was like to be someone else!
