History students meet World War II survivors

IMG_2851 (3).JPGGrade 10 history students had the immense chance of having 2 “Hidden Children” from the Second World War, Mrs. Rubin and Mr. Erlbaum, come to class to share with them their stories of survival as well as answer the students’ questions.

The speakers also spoke to the students about the dangers of fanaticism, not only in the past but also today, speaking about the importance of democracy and putting their hopes for the future in the next generation.  The students and teachers were touched by these testimonies, which made the content of the syllabus studied in this course come to life.
