Sparking imagination in ES art class

St. John’s encourages students to express their individuality. Our Elementary Art teacher, Ms. Behaeghel (or “Ms B.” as our students call her), sparked the Grade 1 students’ imagination by asking them to design the cover page of their sketchbook. They started by writing the word “ART” in capital letters and were then asked to decorate each letter by drawing items that represent them and that they like.

Henry drew a rocket “to go to the Moon!” he adds. Eva transformed her ‘A’ into a roaring leopard, while Gabin shared his love for dinosaurs by drawing an impressive T-Rex. Our future astronaut, paleontologist, and zookeeper will now use their sketchbook to display their creativity and uniqueness.
