St. John’s wins second place in RSC chemistry competition

dddTop of the Bench is a national competition in the UK where the best teams compete in a final at the University of Birmingham.  The competition is run by The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and is very prestigious. The competition is also run in Belgium and St. John’s participated recently.

A team must consist of two 8th graders, one 9th grader and one 10th grader.  The team takes an age-related Chemistry written test of 50 marks.  The team then works together as a team to solve a Chemistry experimental problem.

Ernest, Ryohei, Belen and Vincent represented St. John’s at Top of the Bench and placed 2nd out of a total of 10 teams competing. Congratulations to the team!
