First encounter with microscopes for Grade 6

In their current unit “What is life?”, the 6^th graders had an opportunity to look at plant and animal cells through microscopes. However, those slides were already set up for them. Today they learned the names and functions of different parts of the microscope and how to use a microscope. They felt proud for successfully bringing their first slide into focus. They will carry on this activity for a couple of lessons and continue to explore various microorganisms.
