The Opera Workshop last week was so much fun. We organized this workshop, together with opera singer Diana, to support our learning during our Unit of Inquiry “How We Express Ourselves”.
The Timbertops children have been learning to tell stories in different ways. First, the children were fascinated by the visual of all the pictures of characters and settings that we put up as a ‘stage area’. They loved the beautiful harp and Diana’s princess dress! When she sang they were mesmerized and immediately seemed to understand the emotion and story behind the music. We chose pictures inspired by the music, we danced and sang together at the end. The children had funny and insightful questions and Diana is proud to say she might have caught some future opera-lovers!
