This week the 6th graders have successfully designed and executed their first formal science investigation (a.k.a. experiment!).
They explored different factors that would affect the time taken for a pendulum to make a cycle (period). Some chose to study the effect by changing the mass of the bob while some chose to change the initial displacement position while others chose to change the length of the pendulum. They then conducted multiple trials to see how these factors affect the time taken by the pendulum to a full swing. They will subsequently analyse the results and draw a conclusion.
